SwirlX3D Translator

The SwirlX3D Translator is an enhanced version of the Viewer that permits Collada and 3DS files to be imported into VRML or X3D. Other 3D formats will be added later.

The viewer requires Microsoft Windows 2000, XP or Vista.

Collada and 3DS Import

Model 3D content programs support export to one of the formats supported by the SwirlX3D Translator. This allows high quality content to incorporated into the VRML or X3D scene.

In addition, the Translator can be used to create SW3D files, which is the file format used by the SwirlX3D plug-in for displaying web content. The SW3D format is a compressed and encrypted archive that contains the X3D file plus supporting subscenes and multimedia files. The encryption in the format is used to protect the content of the scene.
