Simple examples demonstrating the structure of VRML and X3D. These examples are intended as an introduction to VRML and X3D file formats for those who are not familiar with them.

2 Highway bridge

A model of a highway bridge shows some of the uses of X3D in the construction or engineering field.

3 The planets

This tour of the solar system visiting each of the planets, is an illustration of how X3D can be a very powerful teaching tool.

4 Egyptian temple

A model of an Egyptian temple shows that X3D can also be used in archaeology and can be used for museums.

5 3D Map

This example shows the advantages of displaying GIS data and other geographical information in 3 dimensions. The 3D version displays more information than the 2D map is capable of.

6 Handbag

This sample shows how interactive 3D can be used to create an online shopping website. The user has the option of changing the color of the leather and the metal.
