About CollView

The Collada 1.4 format was published in January 2006, and the first release of CollView was on July 28, 2006. The first release covered most of the Collada specification, but certain advanced features such as shaders and physics have been postponed for a later release. The current release adds supports for Collada version 1.4.1.

CollView reads only version 1.4 or later files. It will not read versions 1.3 and earlier. Support for earlier versions is not planned.

CollView is released as a free viewer in the hope that it will prove useful. We are always happy to receive comments, suggestions or bug reports. Please contact info@pinecoast.com.

C2X : Collada to X3D Export

C2X

Because Collada DAE files can be exported from many very sophisicated authoring software programs, there is a wealth of high quality 3D models that can be saved in the Collada format. Pinecoast has developed the C2X exporter that will allow these DAE files to be translated into X3D or VRML format. Try this exporter with a 30 day free trial - C2X.

X3D, the successor to VRML, provides a rich environment for adding behaviors and interactivity to the 3D scene. X3D also is an open format. For more information consult the Web3D Consortium site.

System requirements: Microsoft Windows 2000/XP. The program does not run on Windows 98.
